Getting in the holiday spirit

This is making the rounds on social media and is getting everyone into the holiday spirit. West Jet’s holiday surprise is doing wonders for their image.  This is a textbook example of how to make a viral video and create a ton of positive feedback for your organization.

“That is thousands and thousands of dollars given away and does not make sense financially.”

“They spent thousands of dollars on gifts for people who have already used your service.  There is no way to measure how much business came from this promotion so why would we spend that kind of money?”

I’m sure you have a boss or a previous employer or know someone who would respond like this when the opportunity is presented.  Successful people can see beyond the cost of a project and really see the positive outcomes and potential.  There is no way to know for sure that this video was going to go as viral or attract as much interest as it has but the risk of loss is not that great either.  Yes, there is a high cost associated with all of the gifts and production but even if only the airport patrons saw what transpired the word of mouth would be enough to cover the cost of being so generous.
